JOHN Ibañez Carreon, 41, has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse of a minor, and child abuse.
A concerned citizen called and told police about the crime, according to Arend.
“When I was young and even now, he has been touching me…. I always wanted to tell my mom but I was so scared. I don’t know why, it’s even hard for me to tell my aunties…. Even when he’s going to hit me…. He’s going to throw stuff at me anything,” the victim told police.
Police said the first incident occurred when the victim was eight or nine years old.
Police said the victim was sexually abuse more than 20 times.
The abuses occurred after school, when the mother was still at work.
If the victim refused, Carreon would punch the wall, the victim would get scared and would follow Carreon’s instructions, police said.
Superior Court Judge Joseph N. Camacho retained the $50,000 bail order on Carreon who was brought to court for his initial appearance and bail hearing yesterday afternoon.
Carreon, who was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing, was arrested on Jan. 25, 2012 in San Jose, Tinian.
Assistant Attorney General Nicole Driscoll represented the government, while the court appointed Assistant Public Defender Benjamin Petersburg as Carreon’s counsel.
Detective Barbara Arend told the court the last incident occurred on Jan. 20, 2012.
