Imperial Pacific paves way for career growth of local residents

(Press Release) — Through its active engagement in various community initiatives and programs, Imperial Pacific International remains committed to growing the local economy and improving the lives of local residents.

Recently, Imperial Pacific’s Learning and Development team participated in three events designed to assist the college- and career-readiness of the islands’ high school students and graduates.

IPI’s Learning and Development participated in Career Talk, which was hosted by the Northern Marianas Trades Institute; the Start Smart Seminar presented by Northern Marianas College; and Career Exploration Day for high school students organized by the Saipan Chamber of Commerce.

Career Talk at NMTI resulted in three hospitality students joining the internship program of Imperial Pacific.

Imperial Pacific International believes it is important for students to be given the opportunity to see and experience the leisure and entertainment industry.

The Start Smart seminar, a pioneering initiative of NMC, was attended by more than 200 high school students. The event aims to prepare them for higher education and college-career opportunities.

IPI’s Learning and Development personnel spoke to over 200 seminar participants about the work experience in the entertainment industry and the many great career and growth opportunities available to local residents within IPI which is now the islands’ largest private sector employer.

As for the students who joined Career Exploration Day, they were given the opportunity to “shadow” executives and managers of IPI and gain hands-on experience in the company’s day-to-day operations.
