T Galleria launches Boy London spring/summer collection

BOY London has arrived on Saipan with T Galleria officially launching the international fashion label on Friday.

During the fashion-launch party at T Galleria, it presented the 2019 spring/summer collection for men and women, tourists and locals.

Designed for comfort and style, Boy London’s spring/summer collection includes T-shirts, sweatshirt hoodies and short pants.

“This specific collection is very wearable island-style,” T Galleria assistant manager Svetlana Hunter said. “So it is not really just for young consumers. It can be worn by anybody.”

A streetwear brand, Boy London emerged in the British market in the late 1970s and was popularized in the 1980s by musical icons Boy George, Madonna, Elton John, Billy Idol, Depeche Mode, other rock artists and bands.

Today, Hunter said, Boy London represents pop culture through Rhianna, Wiz Khalifa, K-Pop stars and other artists. “It is more relevant in fashion,” she added.

Northern Marianas College student Cris Obaldo said the Boy London collection represents her generation’s fashion preference. “It is very comfortable, laid back, rugged. This is something that you can wear every day.”

Michelle Galang, another NMC student, said Boy London’s trendy colors can help bring out a person’s personality.
