About Marpac

In the late 1940’s, Ambrosio Torres Shimizu and two other partners founded Ambrose Incorporated. Initially, the organization sold the surplus of military products and beer to civilians on Guam.

After an initial turn down, Budweiser agreed to send 500 cases as a trial of selling, and, it was the beginning of a successful venture for Ambrose Inc. until this day.

Working as a family team, Ambrosio and his three sons Frank, Joe and Paul expanded the entity further into the Pacific region of Oceania.

In the 1980’s Ambrose Inc. entered Saipan and founded Marianas Pacific Distributors or Marpac, and, three years later a branch in Yap, then Pohnpei, Palau, Chuuk, and the Marshall Islands.

They opened Ambros Micronesia Inc. in Palau and the Western Caroline Islands distributing beer, spirits and tobacco.

In 1988 Ambrosio T. Shimizu passed, nevertheless, his business continues to prosper and serve the Pacific region through the hard work and dedication of his three sons and their team members at every distribution center.
