THE jam-packed parking lot of Dining & Bar 747 in Garapan by 12 noon yesterday indicated that a huge crowd turned up to taste the food of Saipan’s newest lunch rendezvous.
The restaurant staffers have their hands full as customers flocked in, filling tables and waiting for other customers to finish so they could take their turns. Throughout the lunch hour, a steady stream of diners from all walks of life filed in so that orders took a little bit longer in coming, but the diners didn’t mind it one bit.
Yesterday was the first day Dining & Bar 747 offered lunch to their clients, and it was a success. Yesterday’s lunch patrons were from different nationalities, all sharing the passion for food and eager to taste that Dining & Bar 747 has to offer for lunch.
For the next two weeks or until Aug. 8, the lunch crowd can take advantage of the delicious budget meals on the $5 promo prices. After the promo period, the regular $8 meals will apply.
Although Dining & Bar 747 has been around for years, it used to offer dinner only.
Serving the usual lunch crowd with delicious meals is one way of reaching out and expanding its services to the community.
The $5 discounted menu includes a choice of Pasta Lunch, or the Lunch Set.
Dining & Bar 747 is serving five choices for pasta: tomato cream spaghetti, arabiata spaghetti, mentaiko spaghetti, basil spaghetti, and peperoncino, all served al dente, or noodles that are firm but not hard. Each order comes with salad, soup, garlic toast and ice tea.
Diners who prefer the Lunch Set can choose from chicken cacciatore, hamburger steak with mushroom sauce, beef or pork ginger and fish cutlet with finadene sauce. Lunch sets come with salad, steamed rice, soup and ice tea.
“I don’t mind waiting a little bit longer for my order. It’s their first day and so many people want to try their food,” a diner said.
Dining & Bar 747 can accommodate about 50 people.
Lunch time opens from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.., but last orders will be taken at 1:30 p.m.
Regular dinnertime is from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. every day. All major credit cards are accepted. Dining & Bar 747 is located on the ground floor of Gill Blass Condominium near the corner of Kamia and Adetfa Streets. To get there from Beach Road in Garapan, follow Botones Street across from The Flair, take a left turn to Kamia Street and take another left turn to Adetfa Street.
