Muslims in Palau are celebrating
their Feast of Fast Breaking (Id-al-Fitr) at the National Gym starting
at 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 13) and Sunday (Oct.14).

Uddin is asking for special request from all employers to give all Muslim
employees to join the celebration.
He said that the Feast of Fast Breaking is one of the most important events
that the Muslims want to celebrate for this is an occasion that they are
able to pray for the whole world and have their wishes granted by Allah.
The Muslims are extending their appreciation to Uchel Sechewas and his
staff from Parks and Recreation office, the Palau National Olympic Committee
and the government leaders and the Palauan people for letting then stay
in Palau.
During Ramadan, Uddin said that it is common for Muslims to go to the
mosque and spend several hours praying and studying Quran.
He said that in addition to the five daily prayers, Muslims recite a special
prayer called Tarawee or night prayer during Ramadan.
And on the evening of the 27th day of this month, Nyskuns celebrate the
Laylt-al-qadar (the Night of Power. It is believed that on this night,
Muhammad first received the revelation of the Holy Quran and accordingly
this is when God determined the course of the world for the following
years.
Some 400 Muslims in Palau are expected to attend the feast.
