Suspect in purse snatching sought

THE Guam Police Department’s Robbery Unit Task Force, which aims to solve the many reported robberies and thefts, got another case involving a purse snatching early yesterday morning.
GPD public information officer Allan Guzman said around 12:30 a.m. yesterday, Tamuning Precinct officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Mirage Apartment in Tamuning.
“A female, aged 39, was approaching her apartment when a male individual grabbed her belongings and purse,” said Guzman. “A struggle ensued and as the belongings broke apart, the female fell to the ground and the male suspect grabbed her purse and fled, entering the passenger door of an old model of a red Nissan Sentra.”
The woman received minor injuries in the struggle. She told officers that she would receive medical attention at a later time.
The suspect got away with an undetermined amount of money and miscellaneous documents and credit cards that were in the woman’s purse.
The male suspect is possibly of Micronesian descent. He is said to be 5-foot-11-inches to 6-foot tall, of medium built, has a dark complexion and short black hair.
He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with dark shorts.
Police are also on the lookout for the suspect red old model of Nissan Sentra.
