Life is a gamble

SUPER educated, super smart Ambrose Bennett wrote in his letter to the editor that “life is not a gamble.”
He knows that “life is a gamble.” Just to give a few example: when you drive your car especially on busy street, ride on an airplane, a firefighter fighting fire, a soldier going off to war, a policeman protecting the community, a doctor working to save lives, a patient on the operating table, and so on.
We are all gambling with life trying to survive as we live it everyday. We are all taking risks to support our families. Gambling is taking a risk. But this gamble or risks we are taking is part of our natural conscious state of mind (weighing the risk) to assure safety as we gamble to survive. The same thing applies for trying to get casino into Saipan.
The Saipan Casino Act provides safety net for this operation. It is going to be controlled, well-regulated, away from our communities in designated areas, and primarily designed for tourists and other visitors and their families. So support the many people in our communities to find jobs and put food on the table. Vote YES to Saipan Casino Act this Nov. 3.
In his letter Ambrose is threatening voters against voting for the casino. He claims he has a new group for new direction movement. If his new direction movement is to stop and eradicate all poker machines operators in the villages which is causing all prostitution, crimes, family break-ups and stop the casinos on Tinian, then the voters here, including Rota’s, will be behind him. We challenge Ambrose to speak out against these establishments as vigorously as he is against the Saipan casino.
