Total grants received from
the month of September have totaled $793,280 according to latest report
to the Olbiil Era Kelulau by the Bureau of Program and Budget Management.
Received on Sept. 6 from the United States Department of Health and Human
Services (USDHHS) for Rrepubliuc of Palaus Ministry of Health (MOH)
was $141,541 that would provide funds to develop emergency-ready public
health to prepare for response to terrorism and pandemic influenza project.
Three other USDHHS grants to MOH were received on Sept. 7 that included
$109,558 to provide funds for substance abuse prevention and treatment
project; $37,226 supplemental fund for mental health data infrastructure
project; and $50,000 for comprehensive community mental health services
to adult with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional
disturbance.
MOH also received from USDHHS on Sept. 11$125,000 providing fund for the
implementation of universal newborn hearing, screening project and $140,000
to provide fund to carryout special maternal and child health project.
Received by MOH on Sept. 25 from USDHHS was $20,000 to improve the health
status of the population project and on Sept. 26 was $106.297 to fulfill
the mandated objectives of the comprehensive environmental response.
The Presidents Office has received $50,000 on Sept, 27 from Taiwan
that was used for the 13th Independence Day anniversary on Oct. 1 of Palau
as a Republic.
Also on Sept. 27, Ministry of Administration (MOA) received $13,000 from
the US Department of Interior to assist with the 2007 11th Forum Economic
Ministers Meeting.
