Senate Resolution expressing condolences to late Chief Ngirturong

The Senate has adopted a joint Resolution expressing Seventh Olbiil Era Kelulau’s condolences and sympathies to the families of the late Chief Ngirturong Remengesau Franz of Ngeremlengui State.
Chief Ngirturong died on Sept. 15, 2007 at the age of 86.
SJR No. 7-80, which was introduced by Sen. Santy Asanuma by request, noted that Chief Ngirturong started school in Koror during the Japanese Administration in Palau and completed in agricultural course.
He worked with the Japanese Lands and Surveys until the early start of World War II, then after the war, he worled at Nekken in Aimeliik as an Agriculturist.
He became a deacon of the Evangelical Church in 1978 and a teacher between 1981 to 1987 at Ngeremlengui Elementary School.
In 1993, his clan chose him to become their chief until his passing away.
He is survived by his wife Dirturong Uriumch Franz, children Singeo Franz, Asao Franz, Jonathan Franz, Zita F. Isimang, John Aro Franz, Augusta Franz, Favian Franz, Elvira Franz and Delora Franz and many grandchildren.
