Palau Pandemic influenza training this week

A Palau Pandemic Influenza Training is slated on Oct. 17 to 20 to focus on various preparedness and response issues including risk communication and messaging during an influenza pandemic.
According to Health Minister Victor Yano consultants from Loma Linda University , Office of the Public Health Practice and Center for Public Health will be in Palau to conduct trainings on Pandemic Influenza preparedness.
Yano said the role of faith based organizations, non-pharmaceutical intervention measures, business continuity, supplemental curriculum for health as well as recommended guidelines for school closure in the event of pandemic or any large scale emergencies and disaster.
The last two days of the training will be for the Division of Environmental Health and school based initiatives.
On Oct. 19 , a disaster field manual for EH specialist will be scheduled as for the school based initiatives a Panflu surveillance for schools is slated.
