THE Superior
Court has dismissed the case of a woman charged for misuse of credit card
and issuance of bad check.
Assistant Attorney General Joseph Taijeron submitted a motion to dismiss
the case against Monina Garcia, 37, on Sept. 27 and stated that upon
further investigation of facts unknown at the time of charging to include
discussions with the victim, further criminal prosecution is no longer
deemed appropriate.
Taijeron said the interests of justice dictate that the case be
dismissed with prejudice.
Superior Court Judge Kenneth Govendo granted the motion.
Garcia was charged for misusing a credit card belonging to another person
for the purpose of paying college tuition fee and other bills amounting
to $3,687.95 on Jan. 11, 2006.
Garcia was also charged for issuing a bad check amounting to $500 on March
8, 2006.
Garcia was arrested and brought to the court for a bail hearing on July
17, 2006.
She was released from the custody after posting 10 percent of the $3,000
bail and a $2,700 unsecured bond.
