As a way to give back to the island community, the Reaching Out Ministries will be partnering with the Barrigada Mayor’s Office and the Barrigada Basketball Club to clean and paint bus stops throughout the village this Saturday.
Volunteers will conduct the cleanup from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. They will also clean and paint the old Barrigada koban, adjacent to the church and the mayor’s office. The koban is now a part of office of the mayor’s inventory.
Work will begin this Saturday at the community center and the nearby community park.
This year, the ministries’ event is called “Impact” and will be its third annual fundraising campaign to benefit the youth.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, ROM students and youth leaders will participate in “Big Impact Day.”
Students and leaders will perform various beautification projects in Barrigada, according to Dr. Kenny Bourgeois, president of ROM.
“In years past we provided assistance to the village of Tamuning Mayor’s Office by helping with their skateboard park. In 2006, we teamed up with the Ordot/Chalan Pago Mayor’s Office with the cleanup and painting of their community center and bus stops in the area,” Bourgeois said.
ROM is a faith-based non-profit corporation established in 2003 by Bourgeois.
