BAKKERY extended its winning
run in the Miller Lite 4-Person Beach Volleyball Fall League 2007, while
the MHS Jammerz snapped their losing kid after they posted similar wins
last Wednesday.
Bakkery won two sets in the match over Stick It With It to improve to
a 4-0 record and claim the solo lead in the 14-team field. Stick It With
It dropped to a 2-2 recird.
The unbeaten Bakkery secured its fourth win after prevailing in the first
two sets, 11-9, 11-7. Stick It With In averted a Bakkery sweep with an
11-9 triumph in the third set.
The MHS Jammerz also notched a 2-1 victory over OK Lang. The eventual
winners lost the first set, 8-11, but stole the win after sweeping the
last two sets, 11-7, 11-6.
The victory ended the MHS Jammerz two-game slide and improved their
record to 2-2.
In other results, Something Hard and High Life took separate ways en route
to winning their matches.
Something Hard needed to prevail in the third set to thwart Taga, 2-1.
The first set was a close match with Something Hard winning by only two,
11-9. Taga recovered in the second set needing extra points to pull off
a 12-10 victory and keep its bid for its first win alive.
But Something Hard denied Taga an entry into the win column with an 11-6
win in the deciding set.
High Life had an easier time against Spicy Tuna sweeping their match,
11-0, 11-0, 11-5.
Action in the fall season of the 4-person beach volleyball tournament
will resume on Monday with Something Hard hoping for back-to-back wins
against OK Lang in the main event at 8:30 p.m.
In the first game at 5:30 p.m. , the UN Team will collide with the Dolphin
Okies, while Austerity Fridays will take on the Dolphins Give US Chance
in the second match at 6:30 p.m. Undefeated teams Full Moon and Raw Juice
will duel in the third game at 7:30 p.m.
