IT will be a busy weekend
for the football community with the Northern Mariana Islands Football
Association holding games in the interscholastic, youth, womens
and mens divisions starting today and continuing through Sunday
on various fields.
Today at 6 p.m. at the Oleai Sports Complex Field, the Saipan Southern
High School and Mt. Carmel School will collide for the interscholastic
championship.
The public is encouraged to watch the first-ever interscholastic title
duel between the Knights and the Manta Rays.
Tomorrow morning, the 2007 Womens Recreational Football League will
be holding its Week 2 games with the Smiths Bella Ballers battling
a co-ed youth team at 8:15 on the CPA Field.
In the second game, PICs Paradise in Cleats will take on Marianas
Eye Institute at 10 a.m.
In the afternoon, it will be the turn of the youth league with games to
take place on the San Vicente Elementary School and Garapan fields.
In the U6 division in San Vicente, the Stingrays will face the Marlins
at 1 p.m., while the Sharks will collide with the Marlins White at 2 p.m.
The U8 will also have two games in San Vicente with the Sharks Blue battling
the Marlins Gold at 3 p.m. and the Stingrays dueling the Marlins at 4
p.m.
Still in San Vicente, the U10 Stingrays will meet the Marlins U10A at
12:30 p.m. For the 1:30 p.m. match, the Sharks White will challenge the
Marlins Gold.
In will be an inter-zone game in Garapan for the U10 division with the
Sharks facing the Sharks Blue at 12:30 p.m.
In the 12 division, the Stingrays will collide with the Marlins at 4:45
p.m. in San Vicente, while the Shark Blue and U10-All-Stars game will
take place in Garapan at 4:45 p.m.
On Sunday, the NMI Mens Nationals will scrimmage with at Inter-dependents.
Game time is 4 p.m. at Oleai field.
