No to GWA shut-off valves plan

I FIRMLY believe the article of Mr. Gerry Champion (PDN March 27, 2007) “GWA plan for shut-off valves unreasonable” is really true. In our simple way of thinking, if a certain company wants to modernize its installation supplying a customer, it should shoulder the cost of the installation.
This is just like when we meet a robber who points a gun at us and demands “money or die.” Since we have no way out, we have to give the money.
In the case of GWA installation, there is already a control valve before the meter. Why are we required to duplicate this control valve otherwise our water will be cut off? These two valves have practically the same purpose. The only difference is that this new one will be an additional burden to the customer.
So, we appeal to our lawmakers, “kindly help us curtail our additional expenses by way of declaring the GWA demands unlawful.”
