Diesel fuel price to go up by 5 cents

THE price of diesel fuel will go up by 5 cents effective today, according to the largest wholesaler of diesel and lubricants in the CNMI.
D&W Enterprises Inc. said its diesel price per gallon, which previously was $3.309, will now be $3.359.
“As a result of a review of commercial fuel price increases amounting to 5 cents per gallon effective March 31, 2007, your price per gallon will increase by 5 cents effective Wednesday, April 4, 2007,” D&W stated in an announcement to customers signed by Sung Moon Cho.
Diesel is mostly purchased by companies that use generators for their power supply.
Some boat owners and small companies also use diesel fuel.
D&W’s announcement came after the two major oil suppliers in the region, Mobil and Shell, increased their fuel prices by 8 cents.
Regular gasoline is sold at $3.22 a gallon on Saipan, or 17 cents higher than the CNMI’s decade-old minimum wage rate of $3.05 an hour.
