SOUTHERN High
School and the Guam Waterworks Authority were burglarized on Thursday
and during the weekend.
Guam Police Department public information officer Allan Guzman told Variety
that the school break-in took place sometime between Friday and Monday.
An employee of Southern High School found a teachers lounge in disarray
at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. The burglar(s), according to Guzman, appeared
to have broken the vending machines in the lounge and took the money and
other items in the machine.
Police were waiting for a phone call from the Guam Public School System
for other items that may have also been taken from the lounge.
GWA, another government agency, also became a victim of burglary. Police
received a report of burglary at the GWA warehouse on Friday.
When police arrived at the warehouse, an individual informed them that
he had spotted a male individual at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday morning attempting
to gain access to the GWA warehouse compound.
Guzman said police do have a suspect and are now seeking his whereabouts.
It was not known what items were taken and their dollar value.
According to GWA spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf, there was nothing taken
from the warehouse.
If you have any information on any of these cases, call GPD at 472-8911
or Guam Crime Stoppers at 477-HELP (4357). Crime Stoppers does not use
a caller ID and you do not have to leave your name.
