The Republic of China donated on Wednesday 93 sets of Windows XP Home Edition CDs to seven elementary and high schools that received 93 brand new computers from the government of Taiwan last October.
Education Minister Mario Katosang received the donation from Taiwan Ambassador Matthew S. Lee.
The XP Home edition CD will help the school learn how to use Linux system and maintain the computers.
The Windows XP software is to complement and provide another option for the schools besides the Linux system they studied last year.
In October the Taiwan government also sent three computer experts to Palau.
In a statement from the embassy it stated that, " it is the belief of the Taiwanese government that a better future of a country lies in a better education for its younger generation. To help the children of Palau get a better education, the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is dedicated to engage in educational cooperation with the government of Palau."
