Easter egg hunt at Koblerville day care center

THE children at the Children’s World Day Care & School in Koblerville were treated to an early Easter egg hunt yesterday.
Vincent Duenas, the school’s principal and administrator, said the children were “really excited” and looking forward to the yearly event which features fun games and prizes.
“We have the Easter egg hunt (yesterday) because we know that the parents of our kids have their own commitments this weekend and our staffers will be taking the day off starting tomorrow,” he told Variety.
Yesterday, the school distributed prizes and gifts to the students.
They also served food to the guests, most of whom were the children’s parents.
“Students who got the gold, silver, and bronze eggs received prizes that will help them in their learning and can be used at home,” Duenas said.
Among the prizes were coloring books, pencils, bags, and educational puzzles.
“I always emphasize that prizes need to be educational so that the kids can use them at home,” Duenas said, adding that this year he also made the decision to use plastic eggs to prevent problems including food poisoning.
The facility opened in 2004 and serves toddlers, infants and preschoolers.
Duenas said they recently offered special education services intended for children with special needs.
The school also offers after-school programs.
Duenas said they are ready to accommodate 15 special education students in the program which is now awaiting its child care license.
Next school year, the facility will open a kindergarten program.
“What’s unique about this facility is that we have specialists in the special education program like nurses. We also have nutritionists and our staffers are undergoing intensive training to better equip themselves to meet the needs of our students,” Duenas said.
The facility has six staffers.
