Senior Volunteers and JOCV end stint in Palau

Senior Volunteers Masaru Takada and Miyako Nakagawa and JOCVs Madoka Aizawa and Asami Kurosu will be ending their term as JICA volunteers in Palau in April.
Masaru Takada was a financial manager at the finance department at the Belau National Hospital. He played a role in improving the medical services, identifying problematic issues and provided and support remedial measure, helped formulate future plans for Public Health. He also worked together with hospital administrators to improve hospital reven by introducing new pricing systems.
Miyako Nakagawa, early childhood specialist, worked with the Palau Early Childhood Comprehensive System Program committee (Public Health & Palau Community Action Agency) with the establishment of a new early childhood education curriculum and formulating a guideline. She also contributed her expertise by giving training early childhood providers in relation to growth and development of children.
Madoka Aizawa, GIS analyst at Ministry of Resources and Development’s PALARIS, helped expand the utilization of GIS by providing necessary and detailed maps; creation and management of the Turtle data from the Bureau of Marine Resources; and creating new system to improve the utility value for GIS for all of Palau in partnership with the Belau National Hospital.
Asami Kurosu, System Engineer, at the Office of Planning and Statistics introduces and implemented data back-up; evaluated system & provided support for improvement of data accuracy by providing training to Ministry employees; and strengthening the capacity of data analysis & publication for the host agency.
Takanori Okawara of Ngiwal Elementary School and Yumi Kobayashi of Ngarchelong Elementary School also ended their terms as primary school educators in March.
