A 33-YEAR-old man is in critical condition at the Guam Memorial Hospital after he was pulled from Y’pao Beach waters at 1:15 p.m. yesterday.
GMH nursing supervisor Julietta Quinene said the man was taken to GMH at 1:48 p.m.
As of press time, the man originally from the outer islands of Micronesia remained in life support at GMH’s intensive care unit.
According to sources, the man was swimming with his brother-in-law when three employees of Real World Diving saw the man having trouble in the water. The employees pulled him out of the water and brought him to shore.
Two employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation’s Beach Division began giving the man CPR until Guam Fire Department Medic 1 and ALS 1 arrived and took over.
The Navy’s Mercy Medic transported the man to GMH.
