Chin assured action on complained cops

Vice President and Justice Minister Elias Camsek Chin has assured the community that any complaints against police officer is properly addressed by the ministry.
Chin said this following a lawsuit filed against one of the police officers.
He said that an internal investigation is immediately launched to look into the complaint of any civilian.
He said after an internal investigation is then forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office to determine what action to take.
Chin did not however reveal yet the result of the investigation.
Earlier Mckinley Samuel Arurang filed an assault and battery against police officer Kerradel Ngirakelau and Police Director Hazime Telei.
The incident allegedly occurred on March 25, when the plaintiff was reportedly approached and struck by officer Ngirakelau.
Telei was named respondent to the case because of alleged failure to train and supervise Ngirakelau.
The plaintiff complained that the defendant made a false arrest and is seeking from the court damages in the amount of $5,000.
