Horizon news staff

President Remengesau has recently asked Rear Admiral Charles Leidig. Commander of the United States Naval Forces in Marianas, to comeback to Palau for discussion in anticipation of the impacts of troop increases in the Region particularly the relocation of military troops from Okinawa to Guam.
The invitation by the government of Palau is for Leidig to give a presentation to the national leadership on this matter.
Leidig has just recently visited Palau that included inspection of the re-opened airstrips in Angaur and Peleliu on Feb. 20.
Remengesau informed Leidig that the best time for him to give his presentation will be on April 11 or 12 since the president will deliver the State of the Republic Speech to the National Congress on April 10.
At the same time, the turnover ceremony for the Air force Civic Action Team by a new team from the Navy is on April 13.
The president asked Leidig to be present during the turnover ceremony.
"I hope that you will be able to find time in your busy schedule to provide us with your knowledge on this very important subject and to participate in the turnover ceremony," the president told Leidig.
