JEROME Delos Santos of the
defending champion Budweiser Kings continued to lead in individual statistics
the 2007 Budweiser Saipan Major League baseball tournament after last
Fridays game.
After five games, Delos Santos led the league in runs, triples, homeruns
and RBIs.
Delos Santos has nine runs in the Bud Kings 5-0 start.
Eric Lizama had the second most runs with eight, followed by Kyron Kaipat
(7), while Manny Sablan, Robert Bansil, Ed Kapileo, Chris Camacho, Ned
Norita and Henry Iguel had seven apiece.
Jerome Delos Santos also had the most triples with three and RBIs with
10. He was third among the batting leaders.
The Bud Kings slugger joined Manny Sablan, Paul Camacho, BJ Sablan and
Henry Iguel, Jr. in the list of players, who made a homerun.
Dane Lizama had the most doubles with four.
In the batting division, the Tanapag Falcons BJ Sablan is leading
the race. He was 10-for-16 for a .625 batting average, followed by the
Rangers Manny Sablan (8-for-14), Jerome Delos Santos 12-for-22),
Falcons Mike Pangelinan (7-for-13) and the Bud Kings Dane
Lizama (11-for-21)
Making it to the top 10 were the Bud Kings Tony Celis (8-for-16),
the Falcons Henry Iguel (7for-15) and Jordan Suel, Jr (7-for-15),
the Bud Kings Byron Kaipat (6-for-13) and the Rangers Peter
Tomokane (6-for-14).
Five are tied for the first spot in the pitching category with the Young
Guns Jonathan Tenorio, the Rangers Franco Flores, the Masters
Ben Duenas and the Bud Kings Frank Hocog and Kolani Castro all having
0.00 ERA. Completing the top 10 were the Bud Kings John Mafnas (.90
ERA) and Tony Palacios (1.59), the Masters Mel Sakisat (3.00), the
Rangers Jesse Agulto (3.85) and the Falcons Clint Quitugua
(5.0).
In the team statistics, the Rangers, who placed second to the Bud Kings
last year, are leading the league in batting going 50-for-118, followed
by the Bud Kings (69-for-175), Falcons (57-for-147), Masters (33-for-103),
Jaguars (23-for-98) and the Young Guns (23-for-99).
The Bud Kings are ahead in the pitching department with a 2.08 ERA, followed
by the Rangers (2.45), Young Guns (4.15), Falcons (5.53), Masters (6.43)
and Jaguars (16.87.
