THE Basketball Association of Northern Marianas Islands is planning to form a referees association.
BANMI board member and former NMI Men’s National coach Rufino Aguon is tasked to form the referee club.
Aguon has set up a meeting for interested individual this Thursday at the Northern Marianas College Gym at 6 p.m.
“All current BANMI/FIBA certified referees are encouraged to attend this organizationl meeting,” Aguon said in an email.
The referees association will be responsible for officiating all BANMI-sanctioned tournaments, conducting referees clinics and certifying members.
BANMI has a 25-and-under league, the Rotary 18-and-under caging and the Masters Basketball League.
