TWO young men attending to
another person who was shouting for help were seriously injured when they
were attacked by a 36-year-old man.
The victims were Jimmy James Pua, 18, and Dickson Cosmes, 22.
Pua sustained a laceration on the left side of his neck which required
nine stitches while Cosmes sustained two cuts on his right shoulder, two
deep cuts to his chin and a two-inch laceration to the neck.
The suspect, James Timothy Reid, Caucasian, was arrested for aggravated
assault while his companion, Victor Tesnado Geles, 31, was arrested for
obstructing justice and acting as an accessory to the aggravated assault.
Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said the incident
happened on Tuesday, April 3 at 3K Poker in San Jose.
Ogumoro said the incident was reported to the police at 10:29 p.m.
DPS personnel were dispatched to the scene and conducted a preliminary
investigation.
Responding officers first gathered statements from two individuals who
claimed that they were victims of an assault and battery.
DPS said the two individuals Reid and Geles who claimed
to be victims were later arrested for aggravated assault and obstructing
justice.
The real victims told police that they were walking north on the Beach
Road pathway when they heard a person shouting for help.
The victims responded and encountered Reid and Geles across from the Philippine
Goods Building in San Jose.
Pua and Cosmes in trying to provide assistance to Geles were both cut
on the neck by Reid.
The two suspects were arrested by the police while the victims were brought
to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment.
