5th traffic fatality

By Trina A. San Agustin
Variety News Staff

Less than 24-hours after a life was claimed by a traffic accident, another man died on Route 1 in Tamuning by the Oceanview Apartments and the GTA offices yesterday.
The 36-year Asian man, whose identity was being withheld pending next of kin notification, was traveling southbound in a blue 1999 Toyota Rav4 when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road way.
He is the island's fifth traffic-related fatality of the year.
Guam Police Department highway investigator Frank A. Perez said they were activated to investigate the scene at around 12 midnight.
"Medics transported the man to Guam Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead," Perez said.
The police believe that there may have been another vehicle involved as well as people who witnessed the early morning accident.
Police ask those who have any information to call 671-475-1563/65 or Crime Stoppers at 671-477-HELP (4357).
