GPSS utilities still unpaid

THE Guam Public School System superintendent Luis Reyes said that he still has no money to pay his whopping utility bills. Reyes told Variety then even though he gets money for utilities he if forced to pay off the reaming $3-million in arrear payroll vendor payments.
"I have to use whatever money I get for the payroll vendors. When we are through paying that off then we can use the money transferred for utility payments," Reyes added.
The Guam Power Authority and Guam Waterworks Authority has threatened disconnection of services if a payment is not made immediately.
However, Reyes said the utility agencies are understanding when it comes to meeting prioritized payments, such as the payroll vendors.
GPSS owes GWA about $95,000 and about $814,000 their February power bill on top of a $100,000 payment on a GPA promissory note.
