Pepsi Giants hold off the Islanders

AFTER scoring all of their runs in the bottom of the second inning the Giants had to hold off the AK Islanders in order to get their fifth win of the season and moved them into the second spot in the standings. The Giants would score their five runs on three hits, a walk and two errors in the second of the inning and would hold on for the one run victory.
Matt Muna’s RBI single, and Rey Rojas’ two run single were the key hits to the Giants Victory. The loss for the Islanders drops them to 4-3 one game one game behind second and a half game behind the 4-2 third place team the Bank of Guam Athletics who lost to the now first place Guam Greyhounds last Thursday.
Glenn Palamo would be the winning pitcher after going six full innings. Randy Cepeda would come in to close for the last three innings of play.
The Giants would win despite a three run seventh inning rally by the Islanders. The Islanders were led by Josh Sablan and J.Q. Quintanilla who both went two for four from the plate.
The Giants were lead by Ray Rojas who was two for three and Matt Muna who went two for four.
