Four suspects in the assault
of a security guard and robbery of a poker arcade in Chalan Kanoa have
been charged by the Attorney Generals Office.
Acting Chief Prosecutor Assistant Attorney General Mike Nisperos said
the defendants are Martin Cepeda, Christopher Lee Muna, Fernando Quitano
and Joseph San Nicolas.
Cepeda was charged with being an accessory after the fact while Muna,
Quitano and San Nicolas were charged with assault with a dangerous weapon,
conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery and criminal mischief.
Muna and San Nicolas were also charged with assault and battery.
According to the information filed in court, Muna, Quitano and San Nicolas
on March 27, did unlawfully agree with each other to commit the
offense of robbery by taking $5,567 from Smile Poker in Chalan Kanoa.
Muna, Quitano and San Nicolas did unlawfully threaten to cause,
attempt to cause and purposely cause bodily injury to Li Fan with a dangerous
weapon, a baseball bat, a knife and a wooden stick.
Muna and San Nicolas assaulted the victim, the information stated.
It added that Cepeda assisted the three other defendants in order
to hinder or prevent their apprehension by providing transportation to
(them) out of the area where the offense was committed after Muna and
Quitano paid for gas for Cepedas vehicle.
The four defendants were arrested on March 30 and 31 by personnel of the
Department of Public Safety.
The affidavit of Detective George David stated that Quitano, Muna and
San Nicolas were masked when they entered the poker establishment on March
27.
