THE 28-year-old-man has been
charged by the Attorney Generals Office for grabbing a womans
purse in Garapan a month ago.
John Benjamin John was charged with robbery and assault and battery on
Monday.
Acting Chief Prosecutor Mike Nisperos stated in the information filed
in court that John on Feb. 22, did unlawfully take the property
of Madoka Hosatani, a purse containing a wallet, ATM card, digital camera
and cash amounting to $80.
The information added that John did unlawfully strike, beat, wound
or do bodily harm to Hosatani.
According to a police affidavit, Hosatani was walking toward her vehicle
parked west of the USSP Club when she noticed that a car was traveling
behind her slowly.
When the car stopped, John got out of the car and grabbed her purse.
The victim struggled, causing her to fall to the ground.
John managed to get the purse and fled the scene in his vehicle.
John was arrested on March 30 by Criminal Investigation Bureau personnel.
