Corp. is being awarded a $42,125,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the
replacement of 61 housing units at Old Apra, Naval Base Guam, the U.S.
Department of Defense announced.
The work to be performed includes the design, demolition, removal, disposal,
and reconstruction of existing housing units and supporting facilities.
The project involves 28 duplex housing units and 33 four-bedroom officer
single detached housing units and supporting facilities.
Work will be performed in Santa Rita, Guam, and is expected to be completed
by May 2009, the DoD said.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
was the contracting unit.
In addition, the GFS Group based in Hagatna is being awarded an estimated
$7,572,103 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price,
indefinite-quantity and time and material contract for housing operations
and maintenance services for various naval installations on Guam.
The housing operation maintenance services to be performed include general
management and administration services, family housing, bachelor housing,
and operation and maintenance of radon reduction.
Work will be performed at various naval housing facilities on Guam and
is expected to be completed by March 2008.
This contract was also competitively procured via the Naval Facilities
Engineering Command e-solicitation Web site with seven proposals received.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas was the contracting
unit.
