Poliarco scores 30 in Engineers win

TAMUNING gym was the setting for the GPWA Basketball League games on Monday night and the fans were not disappointed.
In the last of three games the Engineers took on the Tenjo Thunder and it capped an exciting night full of basketball. The game would begin with the Thunder winning the tip but that was about all they would win in the night.
The Thunder could not answer the Engineers’ Marvin Poliarco’s 14 point first half which propelled the Engineers to a 24–16 lead at the half. As the second half began Poliarco would continue where he left off and would never look back, scoring 30 of his teams 55 points. John Benavente would also add eight points for the Engineers on their way to a 55-41 victory.
Frank Leon Guerrero and Tom Tyquiengco would lead the Thunder with Leon Guerrero scoring twelve points and Tyquiengco scoring eleven in the loss.
In the first game of the night would feature Delta vs. Tango Pruvient. The game would be a close one going into the half with the score 12–19 in Tangos favor. However the second half would be a different story lead by Mike Alvarez and Roy Vigilante the Tango Pruvient would score an amazing 41 points in the half and would win the game easily 31-60.
Tango would be lead by Mike Alvarez, who scored 14 points, and Roy Vigilante who had eleven points. Boom Arce would also contribute eight points. Ken Santos and Ray Borja would score eight and seven respectively in the loss.
The second game of the night would feature the Administration team taking on the Masters team. Bruce Williams would lead the Masters with 15 points but was unable to hold off the team play of the Administration team who were lead by Manny Ulloa with eight points and Vinny Blas with seven points, would take the victory in the closest game of the night 37–34.
