THE Hustlers (3-2) are behind
the Fielders (5-0) and the Jets (5-0) in the team standings, but two of
their sluggers are on top of the batting leaders in the Juniors division
of the 2007 Saipan Little League Baseball tournament.
Eric Tenorio is leading the Juniors League in battling with his 11-for-17
performance as of March 31 for a batting average of .647.
Teammate Nokki Saralu is in second place with a .625 battling average.
Saralu went 10-for-16.
In the third spot is the Pirates Richard Dela Cruz, who posted a
.600 battling average after hitting 9-for-15, followed by the Jets
Ike Agulto, the Fielders JD Sablan, the Hustlers John Tydingco
and McGarette Duenas, the Fielders Peter Tenorio, Juan Maratita
and Tom Agulto, the Hustlers Tim Rabago, the Jets Arurang
Esbei and the Tanapag Warriors Joshua Jones.
Agulto went 11-for-19, Sablan was 8-for-15, Tydingco, Duenas and Peter
Tenorio all went 6-for-15, Maratita was 6-for-17, Rabago was 5-for-16,
Esbei went 5-for-22 and Jones was 2-for-15.
The battling leaders were determined based on 15 or more times at bat.
Esbei has earned the most runs so far with 11, followed by Saralu and
Agulto, who have 10 apiece.
Maratita is leading the Juniors League in doubles with four, while Eric
Tenorio has three and Saralu, A, Salas, Rabago and Tom Agulto have two
each.
Eric Tenorio has the most triples and RBIs with three and 12, respectively.
Tom and Ike Agulto have the second most RBIs with seven apiece, while
Maratita and Eli Augenbauigh have five.
The Jets are on top of the team standings with a perfect record as Harry
Nakamura is doing a good job on the mound.
Nakamura posted an ERA of .40 to lead in the pitching department.
In five games and 17. 2 innings, Nakamura allowed 18 hits and only one
run.
Placing second is Tydingco, who recorded a 2.75 ERA in four games. He
allowed 15 hits with six runs, followed by Jones (3.68), Tom Agulto (4.49),
Augenbaugh (6.07) and the OlAces Joel Kaipat (10.50).
The pitching leaders were selected based on 13 or more innings.
Nakamura had the most strikeouts with 24, while Augenbaugh recorded 18,
Tydingco 16 and Jones and Kladiku Charito 15 each.
Correction: (In yesterdays Majors standings, it was inadvertently
reported that the defending champion SAIPANCELL Patriots have a 7-1 record.
Thelma Mizer of the Patriots clarified that their team has a perfect 7-0
slate.)
