JOHN Maratita of the CNMI Amateur Softball Association is calling on coaches or team managers of squads interested to join the 2007 Women and Men’s Island-wide Softball League to attend a meeting on April 17.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at Gilbert C. Ada Gym’s conference room. Organizers will be discussing league rules and other details related to the opening of the league
Maratita said they are hoping to open the league on April 23.
So far, nine teams have shown an interest in the men’s league, while two teams are interested in joining the women’s division.
The CNMIASA official is also inviting Tinian teams to compete in the island-wide league.
Meanwhile, Maratita is also reminding male players who want to represent the NMI to the Oceania Softball Confederation’s North Pacific Championships qualifier on Guam later this year to attend an orientation on Monday at 6 p.m. Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
