A 25-year-old garment worker has been reported missing and authorities are now searching for her.
The Department of Public Safety is asking the public’s assistance for any information regarding the whereabouts of Li Guangnu.
DPS spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said anyone with any information about Li can call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 664-9042 or -9043 and ask for Detective Juan M. Santos, or the NMI Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.
Ogumoro said an investigation conducted by the CIB showed that Li arrived on Saipan in Feb. 2000 and was employed by Hyungjin Saipan Inc. as a garment worker or sewing machine operator.
Labor records obtained from the Attorney General’s Office stated that Li’s employment was renewed by Hyungjin on Feb. 15, 2001.
Li’s last known whereabouts was reported to the authorities in 2003. There has been no information about her since then.
Division of Immigration records indicate that Li had not departed Saipan as of April 10, 2007.
