Overseas absentee voting at RP consulate

THE Philippine Consulate General, in a media release, has announced that pursuant to Republic Act 9189, otherwise known as the Overseas Absentee Voting Act of 2003, Filipinos who are registered overseas absentee voters with approved application to vote in absentia may vote during the forthcoming election for senators and party list representatives.
Overseas absentee voting will be held from April 14 to May 14 at the Filipino Workers Resource Center on the ground floor of the Marianas Business Plaza —formerly Nauru Bldg. — in Susupe, Saipan.
Voting will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, including Saturdays and Sundays, during the period indicated, except on May 1, or Philippine Labor Day, when voting will be suspended.
All Filipinos in the CNMI who registered between Oct. 2005 and Oct. 2006 are invited to check the certified list of absentee voters to determine if their applications for registration as overseas absentee voters were approved by the Philippine Commission on Elections and if they will be allowed to vote in this year’s election.
Those who voted in the 2004 national election are prequalified to vote in this year’s election.
The certified list of absentee voters for the Northern Mariana Islands may be checked online at http://www.comelec.gov.ph/coavsearchsql/webforms/2007oavlist.aspx
