A 21-year-old man and a teenager were arrested for assaulting a security guard and stealing powdered milk at PriceCostco in San Jose.
The suspects, Vincent San Nicolas Muna and a 17-year-old boy, were arrested on Tuesday and transported to the Department of Corrections for booking and detention.
Department of Public Safety Lei Ogumoro said that the theft at PriceCostco was reported to the police at 10:44 a.m. on April 10.
A preliminary investigation disclosed that the minor entered the establishment and took a quantity of Ensamil powdered milk amounting to $35.
When the minor tried to leave the establishment, he was stopped by the security guard, Alito E. Canezal.
A struggle ensued between the two.
The minor managed to escape leaving the security guard with minor scratches on his left forearm.
The minor immediately got into the getaway vehicle driven by Muna and the suspects fled the scene at once.
The guard managed to get the license plate number of the vehicle which was later found in Kagman by police officers.
The suspects were in the car when the police officers tracked down thevehicle.
The suspects were positively identified by the guard and an eyewitness.
