FOUR Guam Customs and Quarantine cadets were promoted to officer one on Friday, according to the agency’s acting director, Major Frank Reyes.
Michael V. DeChavez, Joey M. Santos, Eugene B. Mendiola, and Kevin J. Tajalle were promoted after recently completing a Customs and Quarantine’s in-house training.
Customs Major Darlene Merfalen said the men completed 990 hours of the Seventh Cycle Customs recruit training program which includes academics, on-the-job training, and physical training.
“This is the last batch of recruits,” said Merfalen.
For those interested in becoming a Customs and Quarantine officer, Merfalen recommends that they look into the Department of Administration’s job announcements and apply.
Those wanting to become an officer will have to first pass a written and physical agility test.
