An 18-year old Palau Community College student died early Sunday morning after figuring in a vehicular accident.
Vice President and Justice Minister Elias Camsek Chin identified the fatality as Gelvon Gates.
Chin said that initial investigation showed that at 2:30 a.m. of April 8, Gates and his two companions Mays Masayos and Angel Meledi were traveling towards the Mobil Gas Station at Topside at a reported high speed when the car overturned.
Chin said that the impact was so fatal leaving Gates dead while Masayos seriously injured.
Chin said Meledi did not sustain injuries during the incident.
He said law enforcers immediately responded to the scene and rushed the victims to the hospital. Gates was pronounced dead upon reaching the hospital.
He said police are still probing the incident whether it is alcohol-related and who was driving at the time of the accident.
