Everything, as things go, are fairly under control; now where does a lobbyist fit in? They will mess you up. Costs for this debacle: Oldaker, Biden & Belair will be paid a total of $90,000 for the six-month contract.
Include a $40,000 request for a D.C. lobbying firm. This is in addition to a $60,000 funding request. Now you figure it out.
What does Pete A. think? “I don’t want these lobbyists going around Capitol Hill representing their own positions. Many times they do that out of the interest to promote their client’s position. They go off on their own. Then I get calls from congressional staffers asking [if I knew who those people are]. I have a very good relationship with the congressional staffers there.”
Well, now; what should we do about this mess-up by the governor? What do you think Pete wants to do? Let’s see what he says. Tenorio says he could do all the lobbying work on immigration federalization, if only the CNMI had a unified position.
There you go, get rid of that lump you are carrying and get your act together. Pete is our guy there. Let him do it. Simple.
