Power outage in Garapan

(CUC) — Linemen from the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will replace two power poles in Garapan this Wednesday afternoon, and the power will be turned off in an isolated, small portion, of the village.
CUC crews will remove the high voltage cables from poles infested with termites and that are structurally unsound. New poles will be installed and wires reattached. The power will go off Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m. to safely allow the men to touch and repair the electrical system.
The Garapan outage will affect the following areas:
• At Duty Free Shoppers south to the Saipan Ocean View Hotel (Alaihai Avenue)
• For 30 minutes only (from 2 to 2:30 p.m.), power will also be off just south of Garapan Street on Feloors Avenue from Capital Bowling, Capital Hotel, Puti Tai Nobiu Avenue, and from the Holiday Saipan Resort south and the Bank of Guam Electrical services will be restored as soon as the new system is installed and linemen are clear from danger, but no later than 5 p.m., Wednesday.
