Idechong installed as House Vice Speaker

By Nazario Rodriguez Jr.
Horizon news staff

Ngiwal Delegate Noah Idechong has been installed on Wednesday April 11 as the Vice Speaker of the newly reorganized House of Delegates (HOD) through Resolution No. 7-15-10, which was introduced by Delegate Mario Gulibert.
On Monday April 9, Idechong and new Speaker Antonio Bells bolted from the former majority bloc and now the minority bloc that included former Speaker Augustine Mesebeluu, former Vice Speaker Okada Techitong, former Floor Leader William Ngiraikelau, Kerai Mariur, Joel Toribiong, Noah Secharraimul and Florencio Yamada.
Thus, Bells and Idechong are now part of the new majority bloc that also included new Floor Leader Sabino Anastacio, Gulibert, Kalistus Ngirturong, Flavian Carlos, Jonathan Isechal, Lucio Ngriwet and Thomas Patris.
The vice speakership was originally offered to Mesebeluu but he refused it.
HR No. 7-15-10 stated that the majority of the members of the HOD feel that appointing a Vice Speaker should be done in a manner which will best maintain the public trust, the respect and that hard working image of the House of Delegates.
