Supreme Court Chief Justice Arthur Ngiraklsong ordered on Tuesday the installation of the newly-elected members of the Legislature of the new Ngatpang State government.
In a one page ordet, Ngiraklsong ordered the swearing –in on April 17 at 10 a.m.
Meanwhile a new election for Ngatpang State governor should be held on May 9 simultaneous with the polls for the vacant seat in the Senate.
The March 29, 2007, election of Ngatpang State officials failed to produce the constitutionally required number of votes for governor.
Due to the failure to produce the required number of votes the Office of the Governor remains vacant.
According to stipulation of parties, if the required number of votes is not achieved by a single gubernatorial candidate on May 9, then a runoff election of the two of the top vote-getters should be held after shortly.
