29th Saipan Ocean Swim Saturday

THE 29th edition of the Saipan Ocean Swim will be held this Saturday at World Resort.
The annual tournament was originally set for last month, but bad weather and previous commitments of participants forced Saipan Swim Club to reschedule the event.
Registration is still set for 7 a.m. at World Resort, while the races will begin at 8 a.m.
The annual even will have competitions in eight age groups.
The 8-and-under will cover a distance of 600m, 1000m for 9 to 10 age group, 1300m for 11 to 12 and 2500m for 13 to 14 and 15 to 19 age groups.
Participants in the 20 to 29, 30 to 29, 40 to 49, 50 to 59 and 60-and-over age groups can join either the 1300m race or the 2500m.

Loyola Sports Tennis T ournament April 28, May 5

THE first Loyola Sports Tennis Tournament will be held on April 28 and May 5 in Fiesta Resort & Spa’s tennis court.
Tournament organizer Peter Loyola said that the tournament is open only to players who is attending or had attended his tennis lessons.
On April 28, the tournament will be holding competitions in two divisions in the kids’ category.
Players can enter in the boys’ and girls’ 9-and-under below division or the 10-and-above age group.
The top three winners will receive medals.
On May 5, Loyola will be holding contests for adults with the top three placers taking home trophies.

Jam Attack volleyball tournament April 20-22

The Northern Mariana Islands Volleyball Association is still accepting entries for the 2007 Jam Attack indoor volleyball tournament.
The annual tournament will be held at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym from April 20 to 22.
The three-day tournament will have competitions in the men’s and women’s divisions.
The entrance fee is $150 per team.
