The March 2007 arrivals increased
by over nine percent compared to the same months arrival last year.
According to the Palau Visitors Authority statistics, there was a recorded
arrival of 8,072 in March this year visitors compared to 7,374 arrivals
in March 2006.
According to the statistics, Japanese visitors top the March arrivals
with 3,057, in the top two are Taiwan visitors with 2,094 and in the third
spot is visitors from Korea with 1,070.
Although compared to the same statistics of the same month last year,
the number of Japanese and Taiwanese visitors dropped but there was an
increase in the arrivals from Korea, United States, Guam, Germany and
other countries in Europe.
The statistics also said that for the first three months of the year,
there were at total of 23,986 visitors in Palau with the tourists from
Japan posting arrivals of 9,665, Taiwan with 6,404 and Korea with 3,383.
The first three months compared to the first three months of 2006 posted
a 5.77 percent increase.
