A. Samoa governor: Education is a priority

PAGOPAGO (Pacnews) —American Samoa Gov. Togiola Tulafono has made a strong commitment to education during his Flag Day address.
The governor’s remarks focused on initiatives by his administration to ensure a happy and prosperous future for the youth of American Samoa.
He said education is at the top of the government’s list to properly equip the youth for the future.
The governor also spoke about the need to provide more scholarships for graduate studies in hard-to-fill professions.
“With emphasis in the traditional fields of health, education, social welfare, engineering and financial management. We have come to the realization that we need to educate and train our own doctors, engineers, lawyers and all other professional jobs.”
