Peterson’s no-hitter lifts D-9ers past Proa

JESSE Peterson pitched a no-hitter for the D-9ers en route to the defending champions 7-0 shut-out win against Proa in the Men’s Fast-pitch Softball League last Tuesday at the Miguel “Tan Ge’ Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
With Peterson taking care of business on the mound, Jerome Delos Reyes, Jonathan Tenorio and Clinton were in charge at the plate.
The trio all went 2-for-3 at the plate. Delos Reyes added a run and two singles, while Clinton had one run, two RBIs, a triple and a single. Tenorio scored two singles and had two RBIs.
With the win, the D-9ers remained undefeated in five games. They notched their fourth win last Tuesday after a 13-0 shut-out victory over the San Vicente Sunrisers.
Proa, which gained its third win against Che’luus last Tuesday, 10-5, dropped to a 3-2 slate tying the Islanders in second place.
The Islanders posted their third win after beating the Tanapag Falcons, 7-6.
Tony Rogolifoi was perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 with two singles and a run.
Manny Tenorio was 2-for-3 with one run and two singles, while Nick Guerrero went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, two singles and a run.
BJ Sablan led the Falcons’ losing cause going 3-for-4 with one inside-the-park homer, three singles and five RBIs.
Dustin Quitano was 3-for-5 with two singles, a double, one run and an RBI.
