ONE by one they
knocked the bar down. Each frustrated that they couldnt make it
over one more time but each time it narrowed the field until there was
one. That one was Guam Highs DAndre Weaver who would only
need to clear five feet two inches for the win in the IIAAG track and
fields high jump on Friday at the JFK field.
Weaver would have some trouble clearing the five foot mark but would clear
it on his third try moving him into the finals along with George Washingtons
Mychal Borja and Edward Babauta. DAndre who was the first jumper
all day would once again have to go first in the finals.
He would set the bar high as he cleared the 52 mark on his
first attempt. Mychal Borja and Edward Babauta wouldnt make it over
that mark to give Weaver the win in the High Jump. Subsequently giving
Borja and Babauta second and third place. Babauta would make up for his
tie for second in the High Jump by winning both the Long Jump and Triple
Jump events.
DAndre Weaver would also be apart both the 4x100 meter and the 4x400
meter relay races in which his team would take third in both. DAndre
would not be the only Weaver to finish first Friday. Guam Highs
Devin Weaver would finish first in the Mens 100 Meter Dash with
a time of 12.09. Track & Field breaks down the event into both Men
and Womens events, and each school takes on another within the division.
Fridays Mens finals would go as follows: Father Duenas defeated
